Stained Glass Window Brightens Kids’ Playroom
The Las Vegas Ronald McDonald House playroom now sparkles with color on sunny days thanks to a Wynn Las Vegas employee who wanted to give back to his community.
Joseph Orf recently created and donated a beautiful stained-glass window to RMHC Las Vegas, with the design depicting Ronald McDonald comforting a young child.
Joseph is a Team Lead in the table gaming area at Wynn Las Vegas. For the past 40 years, he has also been creating stained-glass windows in his spare time at his home studio.
When the Wynn Employee Foundation encouraged employees to volunteer during the COVID-19 pandemic, he approached his supervisors with an idea to create a stained-glass piece for a local non-profit organization.
The Wynn connected Joseph with the Ronald McDonald House, and after a tour of the House, the team determined a window in the kids’ playroom was the perfect spot for a colorful piece of art.
Joseph logged 132.5 hours in his studio over the past three months creating the piece, carefully blending a total of 674 different glass pieces to create the final product, which he says is one of the largest stained-glass pieces he’s ever done.
Our families, volunteers, and staff absolutely love the window, and we are so grateful to Joseph Orf and the Wynn Employee Foundation for selecting the Ronald McDonald House to receive this gift!
