Sixth Annual Smarts & Smiles Dental Care Fair!
Las Vegas, NV, July 6, 2020 – The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, in partnership with Nevada Health Centers and Speedway Children’s Charities, are hosting the sixth annual Smarts & Smiles Back to School Dental Care Fair July 20th – 24th. The Care Mobile, a mobile dental clinic, will be providing dental services and education to local kids each day between 8am – 5pm. Appointments are required. Children receiving dental treatment will also receive a free backpack full of school supplies.
Dental services are provided to insured and uninsured patients ages 3-21, regardless of ability to pay. Nevada Health Centers accepts most dental insurance plans, Medicaid, and Nevada Checkup. Children without dental insurance are supported through generous community grants from the Engelstad Family and Del E. Webb Foundations. Call (702) 241-9984 to schedule an appointment.
“It breaks your heart to think of these little ones sitting in the classroom with a really bad toothache,” says Alyson McCarthy, Chief Executive Officer of Ronald McDonald House Charities. “The Care Mobile is here to make sure these children whose families cannot afford dental care have healthy mouths and beautiful smiles before the school year starts again.”
This year’s event will be held at Nevada Health Centers’ Martin Luther King Family Health location. New health screening measures and protocols will be in place this year due to COVID-19 precautions. Only one parent will be allowed to accompany a child into the dental van during an appointment, and temperature checks and face masks will be required for everyone entering the mobile unit.
The Ronald McDonald House is grateful to Speedway Children’s Charities of Las Vegas for being the presenting sponsor of the sixth annual Smarts & Smiles Back to School Dental Care Fair.
