11th Annual Runnin’ for the House Raised over $60,000 for Ronald McDonald House of Greater Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV (May 1, 2015) – Runnin’ for the House 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk presented by McDonald’s of Greater Las Vegas raised more than $60,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas. The 11th year for the 5K Run brought together Ronald McDonald and Chet Buchanan from KLUC 98.5 FM to lead more than 950 runners and walkers through the morning festivities. Together, the local community made a difference for families through Runnin’ for the House on Saturday, April 18.

“This was a great year for Runnin’ for the House,” said Alyson McCarthy. “Our sponsors have been terrific and the event went so smoothly with strong runners and participants. We could not have asked for more. We are so appreciative.”

Our newest Platinum Sponsor Southwest Medical Association brought in the largest team ever to participate in Runnin for the House, with 255 participants. Lexus of Las Vegas provided a gorgeous convertible for Executive Director Alyson McCarthy to lead runners around the course. The Pancake Breakfast is always a great addition and is provided by McDonald’sCarrot Top participated in the competitive 5k and mingled with participants. A huge thank you to The Boy Scouts of Las Vegas who brought their 32 foot climbing rock wall in for all ages to challenge themselves. The Microsoft Gaming Tent was a hit as children played games and enjoyed face painting and balloon art. Participants enjoyed the Expo booth area, explored RMHC’s Caremobile and tours of the House.
