18th Annual Runnin’ for the House 5K Run and 1M Fun Walk Raises Record Amount!

More Than $100,000 Raised For Families In Medical Crisis

Las Vegas, NV, May 2, 2022 – Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Greater Las Vegas hosted the 18thAnnual Runnin’ For The House 5K Run & 1M Fun Walk on Saturday, April 30th, raising $103,390 to benefit families with critically ill children – that’s a record fundraising total for this fun family event!

 

The in-person 5K run was held at Floyd Lamb Park on Saturday morning, with more than 700 participants showing off their iconic red-and-white-striped socks. The event also included virtual participants this year, with supporters completing the run from all over the Las Vegas valley.

 

CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas, Alyson McCarthy, shared, “It fills our hearts to see all the smiling faces that make up this community. We are so grateful that our mission of keeping families close has brought together so many wonderful people—all to support families who need a ‘home away from home’ during a trying time in their lives.”

 

The “Runnin’ For The House” event was supported by our generous Presenting Sponsor – McDonald’s – as well as our Gold Medal Sponsors – Lexus of Las Vegas, UFC, and The Cosmopolitan. Supporters of this annual fun family event can feel great knowing that all the funds raised here stay here to benefit RMHC and our mission of providing a temporary “home away from home” for families who travel to Las Vegas so their child can receive critical medical care. In 2021, the Las Vegas Ronald McDonald House served 214 families for a total of 2,681 nights, saving families $368,288 in lodging costs.
